Keep Moving: A Coffee Shop Design Revolution

Sheng Tao's Award-Winning Design Brings Coffee to Life

The "Keep Moving" project started in August 2016 in China and was completed in November of the same year. Tao, along with team members Hui Cai and Qing Hua Xu, worked tirelessly to bring this unique vision to life. The design was realized using color emulsioni paint, self-leveling, and toughened glass, resulting in a space that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.

One of the most striking features of the "Keep Moving" design is the wall and ceiling structure. Tao explains, "Between the deep coffee color and light coffee color metope like ribbon winding fusion, throughout the indoor metope modelling is like running water, has been extended to the top, top of the formation of irregular shape." This unique design element not only enhances the spatial and stereo feeling of the shop but also creates a soft, inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the characteristics of coffee.

Another key feature of the design is the workstation and the ceiling structure above it. Tao designed these elements to appear unified, continuing the overall design aesthetic of the space. Through the change of light and shadow, these elements endow the indoor space with different temperaments, enhancing the quality of the space and creating a romantic and exquisite atmosphere.

But what truly sets the "Keep Moving" design apart is its ability to capture the essence of coffee. Tao's design is a perfect interpretation of the coffee experience, from the deep coffee color palette to the silky, flowing design elements. As Tao notes, "The whole storefront is as smooth as flowing water, uniform streamline form and coffee color, bring strong form aesthetic feeling, without a bit redundant adornment, less is to get the perfect interpretation."

The "Keep Moving" project is a testament to Sheng Tao's innovative design approach and unique vision. With its smooth, flowing design elements and coffee-inspired color palette, the design perfectly captures the essence of the coffee experience. It's no wonder that this design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2018, a prestigious award given to designs that showcase outstanding expertise and innovation.
